Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski acknowledged on Monday that the free speech platform experienced an “unprecedented” attack, which he suspects may be “politically motivated.”
Pavlovski indicated that the assault might be orchestrated by individuals seeking to censor content creators on Rumble, especially given the platform’s hosting of uncensored videos, including those related to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Attorney and commentator Viva Frei noted on X Monday afternoon that both Rumble and Locals were down, attributing the outage to a substantial and unprecedented attack.
The incident raises concerns about the challenges faced by platforms promoting free expression in the digital landscape.
