Rutgers To Drop Students Who Don’t Comply With COVID Vaccine Mandate

Rutgers University has declared that students who do not comply with the institution’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for the upcoming academic year will be disassociated. This policy is scheduled to be implemented on August 15, 2023.
Nevertheless, Rutgers has experienced fluctuations in its COVID policies over the last two years. According to a report by the Brownstone Institute, on March 25, 2021, Rutgers became the inaugural university in the nation to announce its requirement for students to receive the COVID vaccine before the commencement of the fall 2021 academic term.
This decision, however, followed the university’s earlier retraction of a prior statement earlier in that year, which had stated, “With our commitment to individual freedoms and our history of safeguarding those, the vaccine is not compulsory.”
