Second Wave Of Canadian Wildfire Smoke Headed To NYC, East Coast

A second wave of smoke is headed for New York as wildfires in Canada continue to scorch the Great White North.

New York Mayor Eric Adams warned residents on Tuesday of the expected drop in air quality and advised them to carry masks on Wednesday or to avoid outside activities.
“Due to incoming winds tonight and ongoing Canadian wildfires, New York City could experience worse air quality tomorrow, Wednesday, June 28,” he tweeted. “We will keep New Yorkers informed on conditions outside and actions they can take to stay healthy.”
“Poor air quality is particularly dangerous to sensitive health groups like people with respiratory or cardiovascular conditions,” he continued. “Bring a KN95 or N95 mask with you tomorrow, or make plans to avoid outdoor events just in case.”
