Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has joined a bipartisan coalition of senators to propose an amendment to the annual Defense Authorization bill. The amendment aims to mandate the collection and public disclosure of records pertaining to unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) and unidentified flying objects (UFOs) by the federal government.
Under the proposed amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act, the National Archives and Records Administration would be tasked with curating a comprehensive collection of records on UAPs and UFOs.
These records would be made readily accessible to the public unless a review board provides compelling reasons for their classification.
