A crowd of people in San Francisco on Saturday vandalized, then set afire to a Waymo self-driving car.
The crowd used a firework, according to Reuters.
The Alphabet-owned company Google confirmed the incident, which appears to be the most destructive attack so far on driverless vehicles in the country.
The incident occurred in the city’s Chinatown district.
The perpetrators were reportedly first celebrating China’s Lunar New Year by setting off fireworks, before one, then another person attacked the vehicle, then the mob took over.
In October 2023, a hit-and-run driver struck a pedestrian, tossing her into the path of a Cruise self-driving car that then drove over her.
