‘Shameful’: Biden’s Iran Deal Announced On Anniversary Of 9/11

Republican officials have strongly criticized the Biden administration for what they perceive as capitulation to Iran, characterizing it as a “ransom” payment to the world’s foremost state sponsor of terrorism.
This criticism follows reports of an agreement with Iran in which the U.S. would pay the Islamic regime $6 billion in exchange for the release of five detained Iranian-American citizens. Notably, this agreement was reached on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, which many find particularly distressing.
Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley expressed his dismay, describing the situation as “ridiculous” and asserting that the U.S. should not be coerced into providing $6 billion for the release of hostages, as it indirectly aids Iran’s primary foreign policy objective: supporting terrorism. Senator Grassley further highlighted the precedent set by a previous $1.7 billion payment made for hostages and expressed concerns that the price for hostage releases seems to be continually escalating.
