House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is accusing Attorney General Merrick Garland and the Department of Justice of being weaponized to protect the family of President Joe Biden.
In an op-ed for Fox News, McCarthy argued that under the current DOJ, justice is neither “blind” nor “equal,” but that House Republicans are working to check the alleged weaponization of the department.
“When a prosecutor shields his boss’s son from investigators, it smells like a cover-up,” he wrote. “Garland’s DOJ did not aggressively follow the money. Why? Are they afraid of where that trail ends?”
