The newly elected House Speaker, Mike Johnson (R-LA), attracted attention on Friday when U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink posted a photograph, indicating that they had a meeting to discuss Ukraine aid.
Brink, in both English and Ukrainian, shared on Friday morning, “An honor to meet @SpeakerJohnson to discuss the importance of enabling Ukraine to stop Russian aggression in Europe.”
It is noteworthy that Johnson had previously voted against providing additional aid to Ukraine. However, after assuming the role of House Speaker, he has expressed a willingness to consider the possibility of such aid.
