‘Star Wars’ Actor Wants Twitter Boycott

Actor Mark Hamill is urging Twitter users to participate in a one-day boycott of the platform on August 1st as a protest against Elon Musk’s ownership of the social media site, which is currently undergoing a rebranding as “X.”
In a tweet on Sunday, Hamill called on everyone to refrain from tweeting or “X-ing” on August 1st, using the hashtag #TweetlessTuesday, to demonstrate the “POWER OF THE PEOPLE” and show their disapproval of Musk’s ownership. He humorously added, “Honestly, would it kill you to keep your thoughts to yourself for 1 d— day? Read a book!”
The “Star Wars” actor had previously made a similar call to boycott Twitter on Saturday, expressing his anticipation for taking a day off from the platform. The boycott seems to be his way of voicing concerns over Musk’s involvement with Twitter and encouraging users to join him in a temporary pause from the social media platform.
