During the three-year moratorium on student loan payments, the U.S. Department of Education has consistently informed borrowers that their repayment obligations would resume, only to subsequently retract those statements and grant them additional time. However, the agency is now asserting its commitment to the resumption of payments.
According to an announcement on the Education Department’s website, borrowers can expect their payments to become due starting in October.
Additionally, a recently passed law by Congress will present challenges in altering this repayment plan.
