Tennis Association President Resigns To Protest Trans Player In Tournament

The president of the Cheyenne Tennis Association in Wyoming, Jackie Fulkrod, resigned in protest at the end of July following the admission of a transgender player into a women’s tournament.
The resignation came after 27-year-old transgender athlete Brooklyn Ross was allowed to compete in the women’s open division of the annual Wyoming Governor’s Cup tournament in Cheyenne, as reported by the Cowboy State Daily.
Fulkrod, who had served on the board and held the position of president for two years, expressed her concerns about the fairness of a man competing against women in a category specifically designated for female players. She stated to the outlet, “I feel like having a transgender athlete compete in the women’s draw is against my personal integrity and what I believe and value.”
