TikTok Fined $368M By European Regulators Over Child Privacy Issues

European regulators have imposed a hefty fine of over $368 million on TikTok for its inadequate protection of children’s personal information.
This development is significant due to the ongoing scrutiny of the app’s handling of children’s data privacy, which has garnered attention from U.S. policymakers.
The Data Protection Commission (DPC) in Ireland conducted an investigation and concluded that TikTok steered users toward privacy-invasive choices during both the account registration process and when sharing videos.
