Swimming events specifically designed to be inclusive for transgender and nonbinary participants have been canceled at this year’s World Cup in Berlin, Germany, due to a lack of entries, according to an announcement by World Aquatics, the governing body for swimming.
The organization confirmed that the 50- and 100-meter “open category” races will not take place during the annual event, scheduled for October 6-8.
The event organizers noted that zero people registered for the events.
