Trump Lawyer In Closing Argument Calls Decades-Old Rape Claim ‘Affront To Justice’

Former President Trump’s attorney said Monday in closing argument in the rape case against his client that plaintiff E. Jean Carroll’s allegation is an “affront to justice” that minimizes “real rape victims.”

Attorney Joe Tacopina also dismissed the writer’s federal civil trial against Trump as a “scam of a lawsuit” based on an “unbelievable story.”

“What they want is for you to hate him enough to ignore the facts,” Tacopina told the jury about the alleged 1996 incident at the Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York, for which Carroll is suing for million for battery and defamation.
Carroll attorney Roberta Kaplan, in his side’s closing argument showed the jury the 2005 “Access Hollywood” video which is overhear saying hows celebrities can grab women by the genitals without consent.

Trump has denied the charges and jury deliberations are expected to start Tuesday.
