Former President Donald Trump continues to enjoy significant popularity within the Republican Party, making it challenging for Florida GOP Governor Ron DeSantis to secure a dominant position in the presidential primary field.
A recent Monmouth University poll, conducted in collaboration with The Washington Post, indicates that Governor DeSantis is currently polling at just 9%, placing him in fourth position among GOP presidential candidates.
In contrast, Trump commands a substantial lead with 46% support, boasting a 28-point advantage over his closest rival. Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has experienced a surge in popularity, garnering 18% support, while Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina has reached double digits, securing 10% support.
