Trump Meets With RNC Chair McDaniel, Then Says He’ll Recommend Changes For Group

Front-running 2024 GOP presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump met Monday with Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, a day after he said he expected changes for the group

The meeting took place at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, according to Politico.

After the meeting, Trump posted on social media that McDaniel was his “friend,” but that he would be calling for changes to the group following the South Carolina GOP primary on Feb. 24.

On Sunday, Trump said he didn’t control the group.

Some Republicans have been calling for McDaniel to be replaced amid low fundraising numbers and having lost and-or under-performed in the 2020, 2022 and 2023 election cycles.

“Ronna is now Head of the RNC, and I’ll be making a decision the day after the South Carolina Primary as to my recommendations for RNC Growth,” Trump posted.

Trump picked McDaniel to run the RNC after he became president in 2016.
