Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States on Monday, four years after his first term ended.
Trump took the oath of office in the Capitol Rotunda due to frigid weather that forced the ceremony indoors. He was sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts.
Vice President J.D. Vance was sworn in by Justice Brett Kavanaugh before Trump took the oath.
Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York and Rev. Franklin Graham delivered pre-oath prayers.
The crowd included Donald Trump’s children: Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump, Tiffany Trump and Barron Trump. They surrounded the president as he was sworn in.
Trump shook hands with former President Joe Biden after he was the last person introduced and entered the rotunda.
