Former President Donald Trump utilized his Truth Social platform on Tuesday to urge his followers to reconsider their stance on Anheuser-Busch, the parent company of Bud Light, following a past advertising misstep.
In his message, Trump acknowledged the backlash faced by Anheuser-Busch over a controversial Bud Light ad, characterizing it as a “mistake of epic proportions” that incurred significant consequences.
He sought to emphasize that despite this misstep, Anheuser-Busch should not be categorized as a “Woke company” but rather as a “Great American Brand” deserving of a second chance. Trump questioned whether the focus should instead be directed towards companies perceived as actively seeking to “DESTROY AMERICA!”
The former president highlighted the economic contributions of Anheuser-Busch, noting its substantial investment in U.S. farmers, extensive workforce of 65,000 employees, and provision of scholarships to American students.
Trump’s message coincided with an announcement from Jeff Miller, a prominent Republican lobbyist representing Anheuser-Busch, revealing his intention to host a fundraiser for Trump in the coming month.
Miller, whose firm received significant compensation from Anheuser Busch in 2023, disclosed plans for the Washington, D.C. event, expected to draw over a hundred members of Congress and featuring special guest Donald Trump, Jr. Ticket prices for the fundraiser range from $1,000 to $10,000 each.
