
President Donald Trump set an inaugural fundraising record with more than $239 million this year.
In a filing Sunday with the Federal Election Commission, the Trump inaugural committee raised enough money to surpass the previous record of nearly $107 million for the president’s 2017 inauguration.
The nearly $240 million blew away the amount President Joe Biden raised in 2021, when the former vice president raked in nearly $62 million for his inauguration. At the time, the country was still dealing with concerns about COVID-19.
The Colorado-based food company Pilgrim’s Pride, by giving $5 million, accounted for the largest contribution to the Trump inaugural committee, according to the FEC filing.
Cryptocurrency firm Ripple Labs donated nearly $4.9 million, while crypto trading app Robinhood donated $2 million.
Arkansas financier Warren Stephens, Trump’s pick to serve as U.S. ambassador to the U.K., donated $4 million.
