Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson was reportedly spotted in the Russian capital amid speculation that he may be visiting Moscow to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Russian outlet Mash said on the social media platform Telegram on Saturday that Carlson “has been in Moscow for three days already.” The outlet also posted a picture of Carlson in a group of men with traveling bags and said that on Saturday he watched the ballet “Spartacus” at Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre.
Putin’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, did not directly state whether the Russian president would give an interview to Carlson, instead saying, “We’ll wait and see,” per Russian outlet Tass.
The idea of a potential interview with Putin sparked both praise and backlash online.
InfoWars founder Alex Jones said he hopes Carlson interviews Putin. “For people freaking out about it, it’s time for you to grow up. Tucker is doing what real reporters do,” he also said.
