August will be graced by not one, but two supermoons, making this astronomical event a celestial treat that won’t occur again until January 2037.
Kicking off the supermoon extravaganza, the sturgeon supermoon will rise on August 1, reaching its peak illumination at 2:32 p.m. ET, according to In the Sky. The moon will then set on August 3 at 5:11 a.m. ET.
But the cosmic spectacle doesn’t end there. Prepare for an encore with the super blue moon on August 30. Rising at 7:10 p.m. ET, the moon will reach its peak at 9:36 p.m. ET and set on August 31 at 6:46 a.m. ET.
