US Women’s Rugby Team Allows Biological Male To Play, Ignores Rules

The Premiere Rugby Sevens, an American rugby league, is set to commence its Eastern Conference kickoff next Saturday. In a departure from the World Rugby official guidelines, the league has granted permission to Emma Farnan, a transgender woman, to participate on the women’s team.

According to the World Rugby guidelines, transgender women are not permitted to compete in the sport.

Farnan has been included in the 2023 women’s roster for the team named “Southern Headliners,” specifically listed as playing in the “prop” position. Traditionally, the “prop” position is assigned to the two largest players on the team, as noted by Wayne State College.
