Vermont Town Bans Tourists From Visiting During Fall

The select board of Pomfret, Vermont, a town renowned for its autumn foliage, has decided to close its roads to the public for the season. This decision comes in response to a surge in influencer tourists visiting the area.
Cloudland Road and Barber Hill Road will be inaccessible to non-residents from September 23 until October 15, effectively blocking access to the popular Sleepy Hollow Farm, a private residence frequently sought after by tourists.
The select board made this move due to escalating traffic during the foliage season, which has raised concerns about safety, environmental impact, aesthetics, and overall quality of life in the area.
