Florida is set to achieve a post-pandemic record high for international visitors, surpassing California and New York, as indicated by the official travel planning authority of the state.
According to VISIT FLORIDA, the state’s official travel source, the first half of this year witnessed an increase of 1.3% in foreign visitors, reaching a total of 70.8 million. This figure represents a 4.5% rise from the pre-pandemic levels of 2019.
While domestic travelers constituted 92% of the state’s second-quarter visitors this year, there was a notable surge in Canadian and overseas visitors, with an 81% and 22% increase, respectively. This growth contrasted with a minor 1.1% decrease in domestic visits.
