A Florida woman, Nancy Sauer, made headlines after it was revealed that she left her entire $2.5 million estate in Tampa to her seven beloved cats in her will, according to a report by the Tampa Bay Times.
Sauer, an 84-year-old businesswoman and mother, passed away in November of last year. In her will, she specifically named her seven Persian cats – Cleopatra, Snowball, Squeaky, Napoleon, Midnight, Leo, and Goldfinger – as the sole beneficiaries of her inheritance.
According to Sherry Silk, the director of the Humane Society, the will provides Sauer’s cats with her Tampa estate and an “unspecified” amount of inheritance meant to cover their living expenses. This unique arrangement ensures that the feline companions are well taken care of even after their owner’s passing.
