World’s Largest Cruise Ship To Set Sail, Can Carry Nearly 10K People

The luxurious new cruise ship, Icon of the Seas, by Royal Caribbean is approaching its completion phase at the Turku shipyard situated along Finland’s southwestern coast. The ship’s inaugural journey is set for January 2024.
According to Tim Meyer, the CEO of shipbuilder Meyer Turku responsible for its construction, “As of today, this ship is, to our knowledge, the largest cruise ship in the world.”
While some critics have dubbed the immense structure a “monstrosity,” highlighting its substantial environmental impact, others are captivated by the intricate engineering incorporated into this floating vacation hub and are eagerly purchasing tickets. The ship features vibrant waterparks, over 20 decks, and the capacity to accommodate nearly 10,000 passengers.
