Zuckerberg Takes On Musk’s Twitter With New Threads App

Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, has announced its upcoming launch of Threads, a microblogging app aimed at competing with Twitter. This move comes just days after Twitter CEO Elon Musk received backlash for implementing a temporary limit on the number of posts users can read on the platform.

According to a listing on Apple’s App Store, Threads is scheduled to be released on Thursday. The app will allow users to maintain their followers from the popular photo-sharing platform Instagram and retain their existing usernames.

This launch marks a direct challenge to Twitter, which has been embroiled in numerous controversies since its acquisition by Elon Musk for $44 billion in 2022.
