GOP Rep. Wants To Ban IRS From Buying Guns After Raid In His State

On Friday, Representative Matt Rosendale, a Republican from Montana, introduced a bill aimed at preventing the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from using taxpayer funds to acquire firearms for its agents.

This move comes in response to an unexpected raid conducted by the IRS and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) at a local gun store in Great Falls, Montana, where personal information of customers who had purchased firearms from the store was reportedly seized.

Named the “Why Does the IRS Need Guns Act,” the bill seeks to address concerns about the intimidation of hardworking Montanans by what Rosendale refers to as “Biden’s alphabet agencies.” In an exclusive statement to Fox News Digital, Rosendale emphasized the need to put an end to the weaponization of the government and stated his pride in introducing this legislation to prohibit the use of taxpayer funds against the American people.
