The immediate response to the April 4 fatal stabbing of Cash Ap founder Bob Lee in an upscale part of San Francisco was that the killing was another in the city’s increasing problem with random, violent crime.
However, investigators and the news media later revealed the alleged killer knew Lee and a possible motive was Lee’s relationship with the suspect’s sister.
Lee was reportedly part of what in some wealthy tech circles is known as “The Lifestyle,” an underground party scene featuring recreational drug use and casual sex.
The successful tech executive liked to hang out with that crowd, according to people who also participated. So too did the suspect’s sister, the wife of a prominent plastic surgeon, those people also said.
