Biden Admin Cancels Another $72M In Student Loan Debt

The Biden administration disclosed on Wednesday its decision to annul an additional $72 million in federal student loan debt, providing relief to a total of 2,300 borrowers affiliated with Ashford University situated in San Diego, California.
This development emerged as a direct consequence of a legal action initiated in 2017 by the California Department of Justice. Subsequently, the United States Department of Education conducted an investigation that culminated in a determination that Ashford University, along with its parent company Zovio, Inc., had engaged in a series of significant misrepresentations spanning from March 1, 2009, to April 30, 2020.
The lawsuit put forth allegations that the university and its administrative leadership had employed various practices that led to the misguidance and delusion of prospective Ashford students.
