Former NASCAR driver Austin Theriault has announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for a seat in the United States House of Representatives.
The 29-year-old, known for his previous career in NASCAR, including appearances in various series like the Craftsman Truck Series, Xfinity Series, and Cup Series, as well as winning the 2017 ARCA Menards Series championship, has shifted his focus to politics.
Currently serving as a member of the Maine House of Representatives, Theriault represents the state’s 1st district.
