GOP Lawmaker Pushes Bill To Remove China-Linked Consultants From State Department Contracts

In the House of Representatives, Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) presented a bill on Wednesday aimed at prohibiting consulting firms that have connections to nations like China, Russia, and other adversarial states from entering into lucrative contracts with the State Department.
This proposed legislation, known as the “No CCP Consultants Act,” which takes its name from the Chinese Communist Party, would mandate that companies seeking consulting contracts with the State Department reveal any ongoing or recent (within the past five years) contractual associations with entities linked to the Chinese or Russian government, sanctioned entities or individuals, or those supporting terrorism.
The bill would prevent the State Department from engaging in contracts with such firms.
