Saturday Night Live, or SNL, is known for pushing the boundaries with their comedic skits. Sometimes, it turns out great and an instant classic SNL skit that captures the long-running show’s magic. Other times, it’s dubbed incredibly insensitive, and when that happens, some of the people at the butt of the joke take action.
On a recent episode of the Fly on the Wall podcast, SNL alum Julia Sweeney and co-hosts Dana Carney and David Spade discussed the controversial 1993 skit where Sweeney played Chelsea Clinton. Spade revealed that the skit “rubbed somebody wrong,” to which Sweeney quickly remarked, “Yeah, Hillary.”
