House Republicans on Sunday released their articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
The first article alleges Mayorkas participated in a “willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law.”
The second article says he breached the public’s trust for his handling of the southern U.S. border amid record illegal immigration numbers.
Articles of impeachment for Mayorkas could likely pass in the GOP-controlled House. But the majority of senators would not vote in favor of impeaching Mayorkas in as Senate trial, considering Democrats control the upper chamber.
