The House of Representatives is formally condemning China’s communist regime for its continued imprisonment of a U.S. citizen on false charges.
The House moved to pass a bipartisan resolution on April 25 demanding that the Chinese Communist Party release businessman Mark Swidan, 48, who has been held in detention for more than a decade and is now on death row.
“Mr. Swidan is an American, a Texan, and a hostage of the Chinese Communist Party,” Said Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) on the House floor.
“We stand together to demand his release and an end to his torture by CCP officials.”
Swidan was arrested by Chinese police in 2012 and accused of making methamphetamine for a Mexican drug cartel….
