North Dakota Governor Signs Bill That Lets Teachers Ignore Trans Pronouns

North Dakota’s Republican Governor Doug Burgum signed a bill into law on Monday which allows public school teachers and state government employees to disregard the pronouns that their transgender students and colleagues use, his office announced.

The new law also mandates that teachers notify parents or guardians if their child identifies as transgender.

It also forbids transgender students from using the restroom of their choice without prior approval from a parent or guardian, with the new law immediately effective.
