Poker legend Doyle Brunson, known as “Texas Dolly,” died over the week at age 89. The cause of death was not yet announced.
Brunson rose to prominence in the 1970s and remained a well-known figure until his death, including appearing in the televised 2022 World Series of Poker Main Event.
Brunson actually was a good enough college basketball player to consider a career in the NBA, but ditched those plans after a knee injury and turned to poker.
