Santos Campaign Spent Nothing But Still Lost Thousands Because Of Refunds

The congressional campaign for New York GOP Rep. George Santos officially lost money during the first quarter of 2023, according to a review of quarterly filings to the Federal Election Commission after the agency’s Saturday deadline.
The campaign reported having to issue refunds in excess of the contributions it received, resulting in the net loss.
Santos has been struggling for his political life after winning a House seat last year because he was  discovered to have fabricated much biography.
He raised just $5,333.26 for the first three months of 2023.
Santos’ campaign also refunded $8,352, which resulted in it taking $3,000 less than it paid out.

Just one person gave enough to Santos to require that their name be listed on his FEC form, a person named Sacha Basin, who gave $245.95.
