Spanish soccer star Jenni Hermoso has officially accused Luis Rubiales, the embattled chief of her country’s federation, of sexual assault, alleging that he kissed her on the lips following Spain’s Women’s World Cup victory. This development was confirmed by Spanish authorities on Wednesday.
Last week, Spanish prosecutors initiated an investigation into Rubiales and requested that Hermoso contact their office within 15 days to register herself as a potential victim of sexual aggression involving the federation president.
According to reports from The Associated Press and Reuters, Hermoso came forward with the accusation on Tuesday, as disclosed by the prosecutor’s office.
