Billionaire gadfly Peter Thiel, who was an early and prominent Trump mega donor, lavished praise on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Thiel said on a podcast, “I think DeSantis would make a terrific president if he’s the Republican nominee. I will strongly support him in 2024.”
It’s not clear, however, what Thiel means by “strongly support”; Thiel, who made $10 million donations to GOP Senate candidates in Arizona and Ohio last fall, reportedly doesn’t plan to fund candidates during the 2024 election cycle.
