Egypt, a U.S. ally, has blown off the Biden administration’s requests to shut off its airspace to Russian military flights.
The administration repeatedly asked Egypt in February and March to close its airspace to Russian jets. That effectively would block Russia’s access to Syria.
Egypt reportedly has not responded to those requests and allows Russian aircraft to cross its land en route to Syria.
