Uh Oh: North Korea’s Kim, Russia’s Putin Set To Meet

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is reportedly set to make a trip to Russia this month, where he will meet with President Vladimir Putin, as the two nations progress towards an arms agreement.
According to a report by The New York Times on Monday, Kim is planning to hold talks with Putin during their attendance at the Eastern Economic Forum hosted by the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok, Russia. This international event, aimed at attracting foreign investments into Russia’s Far East, is scheduled to take place from September 10 to 13.
The Times mentioned that Putin is interested in North Korea supplying artillery shells and antitank missiles to Russia. In return, Kim seeks advanced technology for satellites and nuclear-powered submarines from Russia. Additionally, Kim has requested food assistance for his famine-stricken nation.
