California Senate candidate Rep. Adam Schiff has reportedly designated his primary residence as a 3,420 square foot property in Maryland for over a decade, as per mortgage records scrutinized.
In parallel, Schiff has consistently been receiving a homeowner’s tax exemption for a substantially smaller 650 square foot condominium he possesses in Burbank, California, declaring it as his primary residence, thus reducing his tax liability by $7,000. However, no such exemption has been claimed for his Maryland property.
Despite Schiff affirming both his Maryland residence and the notably smaller Burbank condominium as his primary homes on legal documents, tax records reveal that in 2017, he paid his California property taxes with a check displaying his Maryland address. This remains the sole year in which such payment was made via personal check.
