Republican Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA) and Matt Gaetz (FL) have filed a lawsuit against the cities of Riverside and Anaheim, alleging violations of their free speech rights.
The lawsuit, initiated by the conservative lawmakers known for their far-right views, stems from the denial of their plans to hold rallies in both cities in 2021.
According to The Press-Enterprise, the lawsuit accuses the defendants of engaging in a plot that infringed upon the civil rights of Gaetz, Greene and their prospective audience members. The alleged actions, as described in the lawsuit, involve canceling or pressuring the cancellation of contracts in a manner that constitutes viewpoint discrimination.
